RE: Looking for a critique on my mix.

This is not atcually my song, I was just lucky enough to be doing the mix for it. The creators original mix was... Less than desirable to put nicely. He is a part of a the music circle I belong to and we are writing vocaloid songs. I'm the dedicated mix engineer. I'll link it so you can listen. Once its mastered It will be up on Nico Nico Douga and Youtube. Thanks for the feedback so far, its a lot of help especially The comments about the bass, I'm sure I could get it right, It just that I'm doing most of my mixes on a pair of DT990 pro's and a VRM box so I just don't have the means to hear the bass truthfully. I've have been mixing for about 3-4 years now and I've never had access to a decent pair of monitors unfortunately, so I have to learn the hard way. This should work for those of you who could not use the link: I'll put the master up here jinko17 when its done.

RE: Looking for a critique on my mix.

As requested here is the mastered version. The master was done by DTSE music and overall it sounds pretty good, however there are a few issues I have with it. The compression has pushed the hi hat way too far forward in the verses and I think the highs are a bit too excited. Lastly I had an inkling that this master has been squashed to f**k so I put it through the TT Dynamic Range meter. It reads an average DR level of 6... 6! It even went as low as 5.5! Even if this is metal, that is seriously over kill and you can hear it on the cymbal crashes. However the client is happy with it so I'm not going to pursue these issues any further. All feedback is welcome. Thank you an enjoy! (Soundcloud appears to have lowered the bit rate of the audio, so the high end is a little bit wobbly in places... -_-).
